Manufacturing Trends for 2019

November 13, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations / by Nancy Phillippi

Microsoft released a new whitepaper outlining six trend predictions for the upcoming year. This is interesting reading, but it also brings to mind that many manufacturing companies are behind the technology curve and do not even have an ERP system that was designed in this century. If that's the case it is still possible to utilize some of the latest technologies to improve your business data and analysis. Of course the first step is to upgrade your ERP system to Dynamics 365 to keep and hire staff easier, have more accurate data with the latest in software tools, and a lot more.

Bob Scott’s anticipated Top 100 VAR list for 2018 has been released, and Clients First Business Solutions is on the list of the top Acumatica VARs.  Clients First is typically in the top 25 every year for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics AX, Dynamics Business Central, Epicor, and SAP B1.

Clients First is pleased to be on the Bob Scott's top 100 VAR list again.  We are ranked at number 23 which means we are big enough to handle any small to medium sized project with a staff of 99, but we are small enough to care about our customers.  Our strength is in our expertise in Manufacturing, Job Shops, MRO, and Wholesale Distribution.  Focusing on limited industries ensures our team has a limited focus and expertise.

Freight Auditing for Pacejet

May 29, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Clients First Dynamics Partner, Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, freight costs, Pacejet, shipping solution, Uncategorized, Webinar / by Nancy Phillippi

Pacejet continues to improve their shipping solution and the latest helps find incorrect billing which saves you money and saves time for invoice auditing: Freight Auditing.  Just drag and drop invoices into the module, choose the map and click import, run then compare shipping charges you expected, then the carrier invoice charge.   You can also set parameters to only view price deltas in such as rate discrepancies that are not in your favor.  I had no idea that carriers can charge you for address changes.  Pacejet's shipping solution has that issue covered with an Address Validation feature.

Whitepaper: What Do Manufacturers Look for in ERP Software?

February 09, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Acumatica Cloud ERP, Acumatica ERP, Benefits of ERP, Dynamics 365 Enterprise, Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, ERP solutions, Manufacturing Software, Uncategorized / by Nancy Phillippi

Choosing new manufacturing ERP software that includes great general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, etc., is fairly easy. Decision makers should look for features like easy inter-company transactions perhaps for a complicated process, great reporting and drill-down capabilities. The manufacturer has a much greater challenge. In the last 20 years I have been selling manufacturing solutions and nine times out of ten, the business leaders are not concerned with how the GL or any of the financial modules work. They ask if the software has financial modules and do they work. Often our demonstrations end with financials, or we schedule them for another day, since really what the prospect wants to see is how the software will handle their manufacturing operations.

I came across this whitepaper by Nick Castellina, the VP and Research Group Director at the Aberdeen Group and thought I would share some of the results of a survey focused on manufacturing leaders: What do Manufacturers Look For in an ERP Solution? I have been following Nick's work for a long time. He provides insightful information for the manufacturing and distribution industries.
